Holy and unholy things should not be able to come together in the same way that an ice cube can’t come together with a bonfire - the ice cube will cease to exist!
Jesus is perfect. Jesus is different to us. But here we are described as the same family! We are made holy!
He knows how bad your sin is - so bad that he had to die for it. But it wasn’t begrudging sacrifice, it was out of love.
When you feel detached, like you don’t belong, like you’re dirty, like God welcomes other people but not you - look to Jesus’ humanity and death that brings you into the family, that loves you, that welcomes you in, that is not ashamed of you.
Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.Hebrews 2:11
