Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
Death seems like the end, the one inevitable thing that is coming for all of us. With Jesus, that changes. Death is not the end. Eternal life, life as it should have been - without pain, sorrow and death for eternity is ours with Jesus.
“A man who believes... a man who receives Jesus Christ, dies physically only in order that he might rise again in an eternal kind of life. Death is no big deal. Death only opens up eternal life. This is our hope.” MacArthur
Jesus says “I am” those things - they are so tied up in him that he IS them, they are found nowhere else. He didn’t just say he can give them or he is the cause of the them, but He IS them. Resurrection and life only exist in relationship with him.
